CHILI Live Preflight Adobe Extension (Tempo)

Modified on Tue, 17 Dec at 2:38 PM

The CHILI Live Preflight extension is a valuable tool within Adobe InDesign, designed to help you identify potential issues that could arise during the conversion process to the CHILI Back Office. This guide will walk you through accessing and utilizing the extension to ensure a smooth workflow.

Don't have the Adobe CC + CHILI extensions? Download them here

To access the CHILI Live Preflight Extension, open Adobe InDesign. From the Window tab, hover over Extensions and select CHILI Live Preflight.

Pro tip: Pin the extension to your workspace for easy access.

With your document open, select Preflight document in the CHILI Live Preflight panel.

When the preflight check is complete, you'll see two types of messages:

  • Warnings: These indicate potential issues that do not necessarily require immediate fixing. They serve as notifications about features in InDesign that may not be fully supported by CHILI. Although you could still convert a document without resolving these items, it’s helpful to be aware of them.
  • Errors: These indicate critical issues that must be addressed before the InDesign document can be converted into a CHILI document. If you encounter an error, it’s essential to resolve it to ensure a successful upload.

Click on any line item to get more details about the issue, including a remedy for fixing it. The middle panel will display a short description of the location of the issue in your document.

The Actions panel provides two options to assist you:

  • Play Button: Clicking this will take you directly to the location of the issue in your document.
  • Wrench Icon: This will propose a possible fix for the issue. Note that not all items will have a wrench icon, as some issues may require manual resolution.
